Arduino suddenly stopped working with Windows 7 "problem uploading to board"

Hey everyone, thanks for taking the time to read this...

I'm new to Arduino and recently purchased an Uno and a Nano. The Uno was working great but I hadn't tested the Nano yet.

Earlier tonight I was fine tuning a Sketch for a project of mine when suddenly I could no longer upload to my Uno. After the sketch would compile, I'd get an error message. The Uno still works... I can use it just like I could before, besides the uploading.

"Arduino: 1.6.4 (Windows 7), Board: "Arduino Uno"
Sketch uses 3,766 bytes (11%) of program storage space. Maximum is 32,256 bytes.

Global variables use 320 bytes (15%) of dynamic memory, leaving 1,728 bytes for local variables. Maximum is 2,048 bytes.

avrdude: ser_open(): can't open device "\.\COM23": The system cannot find the file specified.

Problem uploading to board. See http://www.arduino.cc/en/Guide/Troubleshooting#upload for suggestions.

I've tried everything that I can find on the internet but the Arduino does not appear in the device manager...

Reinstalled IDE 3 times
Installed the drivers several times
Tried the hdwwiz command to add the Uno
Tried 3 different USB cables

It just makes no sense because it was working fine. I had uploaded to it dozens of times before this happened.

If anyone has any suggestions or has dealt with the same thing, PLEASE share... it's driving me crazy and I'm completely stuck on progress until I can upload sketches.
