Hello everyone,
Maybe I should've posted here sooner seeing as my senior project for my ASEET degree is due Friday and still isn't working, but that's besides the fact.
What is my project? I'm 2 Arduino Uno Rev3's. One has a HC-05 ZS-040 master bluetooth module and the other has a HC-06 ZS-040 bluetooth module. I'm using the "MASTER" arduino uno on my motorcycle to receive an input from my turn signal indicator to output a signal via bluetooth comm to the "SLAVE" arudino in my motorcycle jacket to output the corresponding LED sequential blinking pattern.
I've followed Mr. Martyn Currey's examples from his website for basic bluetooth communication.
I used the following link to learn how to Pair, Bind, and Link them using AT commands in the serial monitor:
Then I used his next page to try and wirelessly communicate with each other to control an LED:
http://www.martyncurrey.com/arduino-to-arduino-by-bluetooth/
A few things I've been unsuccessful with doing:
#1) I could never get an "OK" repsonse while in the serial monitor while connected to the HC-06 slave after typing in AT. As I've read many many websites saying that the HC-06 automatically enters AT mode when powered on, but for some reason I get no response.
#2) Maybe due to #1, I cannot get the slave to receive anything from the master, at least that the way it looks. Using the code provided on his second page, with the serial monitor open while on the master module, it is sending the "LEDON" and "LEDOFF" commands every second but the slave module just isn't seeing anything. I have not changed any of his code provided.
I went through the 11 needed AT commands in the HC-05 and successfully paired, binded, and linked my HC-05 and HC-06. The HC-06 LED stays solid, whereas the HC-05's LED blinks twice every 2 seconds, that way I know it's working. But for some reason I'm just not getting anything on the slave's end.
I took an LED and put the anode into the same slot as the TXD pin of the HC-06 module and the cathode to the GND pin right next to it. It seems as if the LED goes low very quickly, then high again every second. I'm not sure if that means anything, or if it is receiving a signal but isn't outputting it properly. But when I turn off the MASTER, the LED stops blinking.
I've double, and triple checked every connection.
TX of BT mod -> RX of Arduino
RX of BT mod -> TX of Arduino
LED's are oriented correctly
LED's are all functioning properly
I've used a DMM to check voltage levels
Everything seems to be fine, except for the LED isn't blinking when connected to pin 3.
