Arduino Uno acting up? [Resolved - moderator]

Hi!
I recently got me an Arduino Uno, and I started going through the lessons until I ran into an odd issue:
while running digital I\O button sketch (http://arduino.cc/en/Tutorial/Button) the input pin seemed to default to the high state, and act in reverse to what was expected (when pushing the button the LED would turn off, and when depressed it would turn on).

Furthermore, when the +5V is connected, It would "Supercharge" LED (the it would turn brighter), and consequently, the button would not have any visible effect on the circuit.

I tried switching to a different input pin, but to no avail.
Please help!

EDIT:
Solved it. Connected the input pin to wrong the wrong button leg...

If you still can do it, could you add something like [resolved] to the title of your original post?
