Arduino UNO and GY-PAJ7620U2 sensor

I am trying to connect the Arduino UNO to the GY-PAJ7620U2 sensor. I would like to first test the sensor and print the results of the hand gesture (up, down etc.) on serial. The codes I used are downloaded from the following link: (it was also attached)

The wiring was as follows: (also attached)
(sensor->arduino uno)
VIN->3.3V
GND->GND
SCL->SCL
SDA->SDA

The program was successfully complied. However, the displays from the serial are as follows:

PAJ7620U2 TEST DEMO: Recognize 9 gestures.
INIT SENSOR...
Transmission error!!!
Transmission error!!!
Transmission error!!!
INIT ERROR,CODE:2
Please input your gestures:

Transmission error!!!
Transmission error!!!

where 'Transmission error!!!' keeps on repeating

If anyone could point me in the right direction in what went wrong, it would be greatly appreciated. I'm very new to arduino, so please forgive me for making basic mistakes. Thanks!!
