Arduino Uno Driver Windows 10 problem

The arduino shows up as "Unknown device" when connected to my computer. Followed some guides on google but still failed, this error came up, what should I do? I've tried "Disable Driver Signature Enforcement" and the regedit thing, didn't work..

Did you try the new drivers of 1.6.6?

And is it a real Arduino or a China/eBay/AliExpress one? (Or an evil arduino.org one...)

Just received the arduino today, and downloaded the newest 1.6.6 version from this website.
Bought it from a China Website called Taobao, not sure if it's genuine or clone or fake though. Here's a picture of it.

I Have a similar problem with Genuino Micro. It cannot find the driver.

I bought directly form Arduino web site.

Cheers,

Andrea

@infrasonic, looks like a real Arduino  But the error is a bit weird. It says that it found an okay driver but somehow is unable to install it. And thanks to Windows that's all it tells us...

Have you tried to uninstall it? So in device manager, select it, right click, uninstall. And it promped check the box to delete the driver. Then replug the Uno and select the drivers.

That is a clone, but here what you need to do to fix it:

good luck,

A clone, really? Then it must me the best clone ever aka, it just looks like an Arduino. Most clones don't have all the silkscreen art etc.

Did you have anyway to fix it in the end?

I've tried reinstalling the Arduino 1.6.6 software, tried uninstalling the unknown device in the device manager, and replug the Uno, and restart my computer, nothing worked..

Windows 7 Unknown Device FIXED - IDE 1.x - Arduino Forum

good luck,

Tried that, didn't work, showed the same error as the picture

I'm so frustrated now, are there by any chance that the arduino's broken? Or is it Windows 10 problem?

No unfortunately. Nothing is working.

Even trying to manually locate the *.inf file and load the Genuino/Arduino Micro driver (IDE 1.6.6).

I see that when I plug the device the blue LED (ON) is always turned on and widows sees the device as ATm32U4DFU, not as Genuino Micro.
Could it be that the device hasn't be flashed with the Bootloader?

I have seen few people around are having the same issue:

The annoying thing is that I bought it directly form Arduino web site.

Also checked the "delete driver" box when uninstalling from device manager?

Always a small change but I doubt it. Still looks to me like a brand new genuine Arduino and Windows isn't complaining about wrong drivers but about not being able to install it.

infrasonic:

Doubt it's a specific Windows 10 problem. There where some problems with the driver signing but Windows just tells you that. I think it's just a Windows problem on that machine. Tried another computer?

Is it plugged directly into the computer? (No USB hub or anything) Do you have another cable?

On led on is good, ut it just shows power. I don't have a Micro but ATm32U4DFU doesn't look strange to me. For all, it uses that microchip.

andrelongo85:

Always possible but I really doubt it. It's brand new and it's a real Arduino. Also, without any bootloader in it I don't think it would enable the USB at all, that's a bootloader part as stated on the Arduino Micro Board page.

I've seen dozens. But 99% just failed to read and did not install the driver correctly.. And yeay, befor the 1.6.6 IDE the driver was not signed, apparently now it is. So you had to go through the hassle of disabling Driver Signature Check on Windows 8 and Windows 10.

UPDATE :
Tried installing with 1.5.6 and 1.0.5 version of Android software, both didn't work.

Tried installing driver with the "dpinst-amd64", this error came up..

Tried installing on another computer (also Windows 10), amazingly, it worked! At least now I know my arduino's not broken..still trying to fix this issue though as I won't be using the other computer as much.

Wait, do I spot an Arduino SRL...
