I got this arduino error message

"avrdude: stk500_getsync(): not in sync: resp=0x00"

while I was experimenting the arduino uno by putting wire into one of the analog during my experiment.

I never had this problem before as my arduino uno was working fine and so was the experiment but all of sudden I can't get my arduino to communicate with my laptop anymore and serial monitor doesn't show outputs as result.

I tried everything that I could do from resetting to using different usb cables to even resetting the whole project experimentation.

Is it because I blew up the ATMEGA328P-UP chip or could I have blown up the whole arduino uno?

because at least the green light is on for arduino uno but the yellow light isn't on for the Tx and Rx.

should I order a new arduino uno or just order a new chip?

It seems like you have damaged the ATMEGA328P-PU (not UP:)) and need a replacement. You can replace it with a bootloaded chip just buy one and replace the old one.
