Check your wiring Tx>Rx,Rx>Tx. You can still pair if the wiring is wrong.IF you are using proper Hardware Serial, there is apparently nothing wrong with your code.
It was a stupid mistake, I was connecting the tx to tx and rx to rx. Thanks.
Its working now.
