Arduino Uno Pin Fried?

Hello. Sorry my bad English, but I hope that someone can help me.

Today I was doing something not so smart: Trying to make a Vu Meter using one Analog Input (A0) of my Arduino Uno.
The not-so-smart part comes when I connected a Subwoofer Output from a Home Teather to the Analog Input.

After a while I started to notice that the Atmega became hot, so I just disconnected everything. Later, to check that the
Arduino still alive, I just runned the example Fade code. Then I did notice that the Atmega became hot again. In fact,
it became hot no matter what Sketch I used.

I did some research on Google and I found that sometimes when a pin gets damaged, the Atmega may become hot
everytime gets running.
For testing the pin, I just connected the 5V from the Arduino to the Pin and I did read the input in the monitor. In the reading
I got something around 522 instead of 1023.

My question.. Is the Atmega damaged?

I also removed it from the Arduino and connected the board without the Atmega to check if another part becomes hot, but not.
Everything stays cool, so the problem is the Atmega.

Hope someone helps me, please.

Thanks a lot.

Yes, you have damaged the ATmega328 chip. You can replace just that chip. If you replace, make sure you purchase an ATmega328 with the Arduino bootloader installed.

Thank you for the reply.

Do you know where I can buy the chip online?

Depends on you where you live. Most places who sell Arduino boards, also sell pre-loaded chips.

Well, that's a little problem and that's why I asked.

I live in Mexico, and I don't wanna spend 30 dollars for the shipping. Also, I don't know any places in my location
who sell Arduino boards. I got mine at RadioShack in Calexico, CA. (I live near the border).
So that's why I was wondering if you know where I can buy the chip online.

You might want to check one of these sources:

Here is good news for person is at the other side of border.

This just in: RadioShack is getting Amazon Lockers, too
