I decided to use my old Arduino UNO R2 (I received it in march 2011).
So, I didn’t use it for that long and when I left it, it was perfectly working.
I decided to upload the “blink” program to see if everything was ok and I got that error:
avrdude: stk500_recv(): programmer is not responding
Of course, I double checked if Board type/Serial port were ok.
After lot of researches, I found that it might be a bug with the 8u2, so I had to update its firmware.
My first question is: How this problem happened? I mean, I see no reason for my arduino to become “not working” from one day to another.
I tried to upload a sketch while holding reset for 1 second, but it didn’t work.
Finally, I decided to update the 8u2 firmware, unfortunately, I had to solder a resistor on the back of my arduino.
I’m not really motivated to do it and I don’t have the tools to do it.
I found on the web an “easy way” to get my arduino into DFU mode:
I tried, but it seems that it doesn’t work.
So, I don’t want to buy another arduino because I’m sure I’m not far away from getting it to work, but I’m such a beginner, I don’t want to spend 1 week trying to solve this.
Thanks for your help.
