Arduino Uno Rainbow Light Setup for GUY MANUEL Hel

Hello all,

After searching every possible keyword I could think of I still couldn't find anything that could help my case. I've studied every picture of DIY GUY MANUEL helmets, including Volpin and countless others.

I'm using the Arduino Starter Kit, with the Arduino Uno. With Conor1148's Arduino code for Guy Manuel Helmet on this thread: The Daft Club - Daft Punk Fansite )

My problem is that I know little about electricity, but I know a 9v won't do me any good with 48 LEDs (8 Channels, Two Sides, 6 leds on each channel). Currently I know I will need bunch of transistors and resistors to do this.

Can someone please help me calculate what transistors and resistors I would need for 48 3.2-3.4v 20mA 12000mcd LEDs?

So basically each row needs to look like this: http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2656/3916797075_607f5e711b_z.jpg [schematic: http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2523/3775990536_f25c915137.jpg ]?

Also, I think this [ http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2578/3775990676_653eb5b104.jpg] is the main piece divorcing the the voltage and adding an extra battery?

I have six 330 ohms Resistors. But i doubt we will need them?[wrong ohms I'm thinkin]

If someone could PLEASE help me out, that would be great! Any info highly appreciated!

THANKS!

It really depends upon how you plan to configure and control your LED's. I'm not entirely clear what the overall setup is from the bits and pieces you posted.

So you have 48 LED's. Do you need to be able to turn each one on and off individually, or are they grouped into "8 channels" with 6 LED's all turning on and off together in a channel?

So much for help on this forum..

As it should be...the question is pretty simple and has been answered hundreds of times in these forums and elsewhere on the internet. Plus, the code you were using was developed in the other forum so someone must have already solved the problem there.
