I bought the "EFCom GPRS / GSM Shield" too, and also how many, I had problems with the AT commands that not have response.
Resuming, I developed a perfect solution for all my problems. Now the EFcom Shield is working perfectly for me XD
My solution is simple, only need connect the RX pin (hole), that is located bellow the NOKIA5110_LCD pins, to the pins that have the jumpers (S_RX on this case), or directly to a D3 on Arduino. See at the attached picture to understand better the solution.
