Yup - you were missing the driver.
The IDE only comes with the drivers for serial adapters used on official boards. The clones almost all use a CH340G, which is not used on any official boards (though it's a perfectly good serial adapter). I thought there was a signed mac driver now, so you wouldn't need to set the system to dev mode...

Make sure you have the USB fully inserted into the Uno and the computer. If it's only partially inserted, sometimes you will get power (and thus see the LEDs on the board come on), but not data connections (and thus no port).
Try a different USB cable. You might have a defective or damaged cable that is getting an intermittent connection.
Hi. I update the Arudino IDE to the last version 1.8.13 and the port desapear. I have only the bluetooth incoming port. I have an Arduino ONE, not original, but is not the CH340, is the ATMEL 16u2 so the CH340 dirvers did not solved the problem. I´ve tried many times instaling it over and over and nothing happens. May be the ch30 drivers is interfearing ? Theres a way to un install this driver? I really need help with this since. I install the IDE in 2 other computers, another mac, and a PC and the same thing. Buying an original ARDUINO ONE will solve the problem? Also my NANO CH340 is has no port any more. Both worked at least for a month and then in some update stop comunicating. Im frustrated since i spend many hours trying to solve this.
Thanks
Nico
