I have an arduino uno wifi for a project of my
And update firmware from unowifidevserial version 1.1.0
I did this with python installation procedure.
I need the wifi for getting data of a restserver and posting so i use the esp8266 software
I tried my first version to update and it worked fine
A week later i tried to update my updated version and got this error
error: espcomm_open failed
I had also already installed the esp8266 board and checked that ther was only 1 version in my packages
After 2 hours suddenly the uploading worked with no changes in the board settings
I have tried uploading my old programm with as selected board uno wifi and that worked fine
So it works for now but what exactly was the problem and how can you fix it when it returns

Uno WiFi does this sometimes if it is touched too much. do you use the plastic bottom cover? some of the soldering points there are sensitive to touch (I suspect esp8266 io 2)
Yes i have indead a plastic bottom cover. I had already tried to remove all connections to my board but this didn't work. So next time I will try to remove the bottom cover.

but thanks for the tip
do not remove the cover. it protects the board
UnoWiFiDevEdSerial1 is not a firmware. it is only a 'gate' to on-board esp8266
I do not know if you installed AT firmware or WiFi Link firmware, but try to upload to Atmega the corresponding example from the Uno WiFi Serial1 examples. the example initializes the SC and resets the esp8266
I installed AT firmware
but what you suggest is not solution for me bacause then i need to dissamble arduino for taking out the chip. And I have cuurently no parts for making that type of circuit

what? I suggest to upload an example to Atmega - the Uno part of the board in most normal arduino way. open the WiFiEspWebClient example in IDE, select Uno WiFi board in Tools and hit Upload
I have tried already to upload other esp8266 exemples same result so it is not my code i have written that is the problem
i also already have tried to upload "espproxy" with board "arduino uno wifi" that worked
When I uploaded and looked at the Serial monitor I saw not the full code i had before so i flashed again . The full proces with at firmware. When this was done. I can back upload codes to my board
