Arduino UNO will not connect to Mac

I am using a 2009 iMac with a arduino uno R3. I purchased the board off eBay, and followed all the directions to use the programmer. I can get my Sanghololu board to connect to my arduino, but when I connect my uno to the computer the serial port goes away and all that I am left with is bluetooth. Ho do I get the board to connect to the computer correctly? I am using a Yellow Arduino R3 with the older style DIP ATmega328P chip changed to flat package chip. It also uses a CH340 USB-to-serial interface chip instead of a 16U2. Any help will be appreciated.

What you describe is some clone version of an R3. Arduinos were never yellow nor did they use CH340 as the USB/Serial interface. And where does Bluetooth come in?
'328P in DIP is still the current form factor.

You need to find and install the CH340 driver for your OS. I'd try a Google search.
