Arduino Uno with 3.3V I/O

Hello,

after having learnt that with a simple voltage divider, the Arduino Uno can have 3.3V output where I want, I am interested whether this works easier with simply connecting IOREF to 3V3.

As far as I know, supplying voltage to the IOREF pin changes the input/output reference which is normally 5V. Then I connect, for example, D7 to the pin of some module that works with 3.3V.

Will that work, do I understand it in the right way?

No that is not how it works. It is simply an output that lets shields know what voltage it is running from.

oh,too bad. Is there any pin that can be supplied some voltage to and thus changing the output of the pins to this voltage?

No. Pins will output at 5V if board is a 16 MHz board. There are other 8 MHz boards that run at 3.3V.
