I am a newbie at this as well, but if you can upload sketches and they work, then the unit appears to be working.
Or did you upload the sketches from a different computer -- not your Windows 7 system?
No, you dont understand.
Uploaded sketch is uploaded before failure.
Sketch is working, and power is on over usb cable, but Arduino cant communicate with pc.
Seems that atmega16v2 is in malfunction...
And I cant find where I can buy this chip for reasonable price ?
(sorry for my bad english)
Open your device manager and check on the COM port. The board may be hung up. After disconnecting and reconnecting several times I sometimes get a message that "the device cannot start." Which causes some of the problems you are describing. You may be able to clear this up by disabling/enabling the device or unstalling/reinstalling. This might seem a little bit simple, but make sure you've done this before thinking that your hardware is broken.
I have connect him several times, but there is no change...
It seems that there is no help.
I have already order a new Arduino Uno.
Now I need only wait for NewOld friend
Thanks for time and help.
Cheers!
I wish you got a more favourable answer, I have the same situation. I use Debian Linux, though. Nothing shows up in the logs when connecting the Uno to the computer, but the last sketch that was uploaded still works.
I've connected the Uno to another computer, and still nothing appears in /var/log/messages or dmesg output.
I've tried the Loop-Back Test, but it still isn't recognized.
Does anyone have any suggestions, other than buying a new Uno?
Something for report...
Arduino - board, which is subject of this thread is resurrected !
I have reball the chip, atmega.
I know that this is not professional solution, but for me, it works.
Important thing is that it works!
