I am new to the arduino world and have read lot of books on arduino. but I still need help with a project.
I am being given, arduino uno, two 6 v dc motor, 130 size and L298 motor shield. we will be creating an autonomous watercraft. I have to draw a circuit diagram connecting all the above stuff and also including the right battery. Could you guys please help with the circuit diagram? The arduino pins and motor shield pins are not making sense any this stage- which one goes into which? Any help, is deeply appreciated.
Until you add sensors or other circuitry you won't need to know about the Arduino pins to get your motor shield running the motors. You'll most likely be able to find your specific motor shield at this site http://shieldlist.org/ which will explain which wires go where.

I'm pretty sure your homework assignment was not to jump on the internet and ask for people to do your homework for you. Do it yourself.
