Arduino USB VCP in Windows 7

So I decided to try Windows 7.

I have a freedunio 1.16.

Virtual Com Port is instaled, USB drivers are installed.

avrdude: stk500_getsync(): not in sync: resp=0x00
avrdude: stk500_disable(): protocol error, expect=0x14, resp=0x51

I've switch the bitrate to 115200 and tried a different com port, but I'm not much of a serial bus whizz.

One strange symptom is that during transfer the on-board p13 LED flashes a little, goes dim, and then the RX LED blinks uniformly exactly thrice.

I assume it's some kind of configuration issue? I'm 99% certain that the drivers for FTDI have been correctly installed.

If anyone can help, I'd be grateful.

My mistake.

I didn't select the atmel168 from the arduino IDE tools option.

Freeduino 1.16 is fully supported on Windows 7.
