Arduino Web Editor showing either null or compilation failed

Hello everyone. I am new to Arduino (started out with it an year ago). I recently switched to Arduino web editor and no problems occurred to me until now.

The editor started showing either “null” in verbose output or “Compilation Failed. Please report this problem to the Forum.”

Here is the code:

#include <Adafruit_MotorShield.h>

Adafruit_MotorShield AFMS = Adafruit_MotorShield();
Adafruit_DCMotor *myMotor = AFMS.getMotor(1);

void setup()
{

Serial.begin(9600);           // set up Serial library at 9600 bps
Serial.println("Motor test!");

AFMS.begin();
  myMotor->setSpeed(255);
  myMotor->run(FORWARD);

  myMotor->run(RELEASE);
}
void loop() {

  uint8_t i;

  Serial.print("tick");
  myMotor->run(FORWARD);

  for (i=0; i<255; i++) {
    myMotor->setSpeed(i);
    delay(10);
  }
  for (i=255; i!=0; i--) {
    myMotor->setSpeed(i);
    delay(10);
  }
  Serial.print("tock");
  myMotor->run(BACKWARD);

  for (i=0; i<255; i++) {
    myMotor->setSpeed(i);
    delay(10);
  }
  for (i=255; i!=0; i--) {
    myMotor->setSpeed(i);
    delay(10);
  }
  Serial.print("tech");
  myMotor->run(RELEASE);
  delay(1000);

}

This code is the one copied from the github repositry:

I have to submit my project till day after tomorrow. Any help would be appreciated. :smiley:

Have you confirmed the sketch still works on the regular IDE ?
It certainly compiles in CREATE as I just tried your sketch myself.
There were ZERO errors when compiling for a UNO.

You neglected to say a few things about what you are using so you might want to READ THIS.
