Good morning forum. Pardon my noob question - I'm learning Arduino with my 8yo daughter as of yesterday, and perhaps I am biting off more than I can chew here since I don't know programming either (but I've built some tube guitar amps and a few pedals). I stumbled on a project that used a coke bottle to conceal a mini camera. I am inspired. I'd like to:
Build a camera into something in the house
Have the camera detect motion
If there is motion:
Turn on
Trigger a wifi login
Trigger an Outlook login to my email (or Gmail, whatever)
Trigger a mapi spooler command to send an email template to myself (text would be better)
Include a link to my preferred browser to access tthe video so I can quickly see what's happening
I saw the first portion of this (sans email/text) was possible using a Raspberry board with a camera but I just bought an Arduino kit so naturally I am wondering if the Arduino can also do this with a wifi library or something? Thanks so much in advance for any guidance on this. I realize this will be a long term deal for me.
That's not what a camera does. Some motion sensor, yes. Some microcontroller, using data from a camera, maybe.

Wonder no more. It can't. The Arduino doesn't have near enough memory to deal with one camera image, let alone more than one that would be required to detect motion.
Looks like the description states it detects motion and the eyes follow. Looks like the range on that sensor is 10 feet only, though. But, if I had a longer sensor, I'm assuming I can trigger the camera to turn on if the sensor is tripped with a certain value, and it can also initiate an email?

I've never seen a camera that could send email. YMMV.
The Arduino can send email to some email systems. More and more email providers are wising up to the dangers of open email systems, so don't rely on the fact that your email provider hasn't fixed that weak spot.
The Arduino COULD invoke a script on a server, and that script, running on a much more powerful computer with loads more memory COULD send the email.
It's really not clear what the camera is going to do, though. The email won't contain an image from the camera.
A Raspberry Pi is not all that intimidating. Just get one, and do your project there, where it will be MUCH simpler.
