Arduino WIFI Shireld - solder antenna connector on a shield with integrated ant.

Hello to all,

I need a Antenna Connector Wifi Shield ( the A000089 one), but I can only find one with an integrated one (I am allowed to buy from certain distributors).

Since I am pretty good with electronics, I would like to know if it is possible the following:

  • solder an antenna connector on the shield in the designated spot (I saw that the connector PCB footprint exist);

  • buy a WiFi antenna;

  • insert the antenna in the slot and the SHIELD WILL EMIT ON THE EXTERNAL ANTENNA.

If all that is possible, then which type is the antenna connector: UFL maybe? can anyone give me a reference for the antenna?

Since you haven't given any indication of which shield(s) you are talking about
its hard to know. Do you mean the standard Arduino one?

Before you mentioned the A000089 one, now you provide a link to the A000058 one
and call it the "A000059 one" !!

Anyway I can't see enough documentation (the PCB layout) for either of the Arduino
WiFi shields to know what's in that area of the board - a close-up photo of both
sides of the board would be a start, but the website photo is an animation!!
