Hi Community,
The project I need to work on in the foreseeable future requires:
- one differential Analog Input (range and accuracy is not too important as it will be rather a sanity check if the Analog signal is there and I can use a voltage divider)
- Ethernet connectivity for sending emails
- 3G connectivity for sending text messages
I am complete rookie working and setting up arduino hardware configurations, so I need an advise what am I supposed to use. I know that the Arduino Leonardo has differential inputs and as far as I know its compatible with the ethernet shield, but understanding if I can use an ethernet shield AND a 3G shield is beyond my understanding at this point.
Can you also advise on particular part numbers I need to order?
Also I am wondering if I can power all the three modules from the same 12V DC power supply?
Thanks a lot in advance,
Istvan
EDIT: An board with a built in Ethernet would be even better, as then I only need to add an 3G shield. (the problem is that I am confused about the wide variety of the different Arduino boards)
EDIT2: Replaced "AI" with the term "Analog Input"
Differential Artificial Intelligence?
Thanks for being constructive... Differential Analog Input
Shields stack on top of the controller board, and all must use the same Vcc (of the controller). AFAIK the Due uses Vcc=3.3V, but I don't have such a board and cannot give further advice.
Thanks for trolling away my question by not answering my questions and making assumptions.
Don't expect more specific answers, based on the few facts you provided
The choice of modules is up to you, depending on your requirements (cost, functionality, size, power requirements...). Once you found specific modules, their data sheets can help us to find out whether they fit your needs. One important selection criterion is the supply voltage, as outlined before.
Don't take into account modules without data sheets, prefer modules with links to libraries or Arduino sample code, or modules discussed already somewhere in the forum. Come back with links to the modules and data sheets which look good to you, and with more specific questions.
I thought my question was quite specific, but after some research I can make it more specific:
Can I use the following products stacked up and still have a differential Analog Input:
I dont have to stick with these products. If we have one with Ethernet onboard then I am ok to pick that one and then I only need a the GSM shield. An SD card would be preferable.
Let me know your thoughts. thx,
i-
Now you can find out whether these shields share some controller pins, what would make them unusable together.
I dont know why do you comment if you are not willing or unable to help. This makes some people feeling smart though... No need to respond anymore, I just go to a different more helpful forum.
