I'm really new to electronics so bear with me if I'm not making too much sense. I just finished building a stock sumovore by solorbotics, and I'd like to replace the discrete brainboard with an arduino. I have managed to hook up the motor controls and preprogram movement, but I'm having trouble with the edge sensors and IR detectors. The IR detectors use a 74AC14 chip, and I'm trying to figure out how to get a useable output for the arduino. Any thoughts on the topic would be much appreciated. Thanks for a great forum!
I too have been looking at doing this with my Sumovore. Although the stock Sumovore is remarkably capable. It holds it's own against MarkIII's and Sumobots. Especailly with the optional rear IR sensor.
I had thought about programming a Mega8 using my Arduino board and then transferring the chip to the Solarbotics Atmel brainboard for the Sumovore.
I'll let you know if I come up with any good code, and ways to connect the arduino to read the sensor outputs. I think the arduino would be a really neat tool to use with the sumovore.
