Arduino Yún to Wi-Fi network from sketch

Hi,

Stupid question, but is it possible to connect Arduino Yún to another wi-fi network (unencrypted, open) from its sketch, like you could do with wi-fi shield?

I need simply to connect to smart camera wi-fi network and send POST HTTP commands to trigger auto-focus and shutter.

Thanks in advance.

@Leprous, yes, of course. The easiest way to do this is to make sure they are both on the same wifi network. Also, make sure there is no internal firewall that can block the signal. On a few routers, there is a setting to block internal traffic, but those are usually meant as enterprise solutions (such as between offices).

Smart camera wi-fi network: AP & DHCP server
Yun/Yun Shield: STA & DHCP client.

STA for managed (client) mode, unencrypted & DHCP client.

Sketch:

#include <Process.h>
void setup() {
 Bridge.begin();  // Initialize Bridge
 Process p;
 p.begin("/root/setopenwifi.sh");
 p.addParameter("my wifi ssid");
 p.run();
}
void loop() {
}
