Arduino Zero as a Starter Board

I am new to Arduino and microcontrollers in general. I would like to get started using an Arduino Start Kit, which is designed for the Uno board, but I have heard all about the new Arduino Zero board coming out soon.

Is the Zero meant to replace the Uno in this respect? If so, will there be starter kit material that supports the Zero?

In other words, should I wait to purchase the Zero, or should I use the existing starter kit with the Uno to get started?

The ZERO will probably have some bugs, so it will probably be best to start out with the UNO.

You can start today with an Uno.
It's not that expensive.
Once you decided you like to play with Arduino, you'll get more of them.
By then you'll pick up a Zero if it is available already.

I've got over 10 Arduinos (about 6 different variants) all over the place here, after 2.5 years of playing.
