ArduinoBlue V2 Drive Joystick giving wrong numbers

I am using a Nano with HM-10 to interface with ArduinoBlue V2 app. Using the drive command on the app the throttle goes to zero when I move it horizontally to the left and 99 when I go to the right. Steering stays at 49 (center) when I go vertical and the throttle give correct output on the vertical. I do not understand why the throttle is moving on the horizontal? My tank drives okay, but I lose a lot of maneuverability due to this. Is there a way to correct it? My understanding it should remain at 49 (center) if I do not move it off the vertical axis.
