Are there any pre-existing robo-vac systems for arduino to control a roomba?

By control i dont mean drive it around, i mean actually do vacuuming. programming pathfinding in C and building a map with various sensors ill add onto the roomba, would be a pain. So i was hoping someone else has already done this. controlling the motors and such is dead easy, but a proper vacuum cleaner program itself is incredibly time consuming to write, plus im not yet familiar with that kind of programming, i only know OF it.

Anyway, does anyone know of any open projects where a new microcontroller was used to replace the existing MCU of a vacuum robot. doesnt matter what kind it was.

thanks in advance :stuck_out_tongue:

Did you search for something like "arduino roomba"?

among other things yes, but it all seems to focus on repurposing the robovac rather than re-inventing it

does anyone know of any projects where someone has built an arduino robo vac system from scratch? i cant certainly end up being the first can i?
