Hi, I need help with connecting my atmega328 to my Xp computer using a USB. I have no green LEd lights on my board when I use a USB lead to my computer to the board. I am running 2.08.24 driver and selecting the right com ports in device manager on my computer and matching it with the device on tools in Ardunio 1.0.5. I then use the serial monitor to see if it communicates with the computer entering "HE" and then sending it to at mega. I get anything and no led lights on my board, just the red led for a slight second. Can any one help me with this connection. What am I doing wrong.
What Arduino board are you using?
What bootloader is burned into the ATmega328p?

The ATmega328 is just a chip and doesn't have any LEDs. Did you mean to say a particular Arduino model?
It has a atmega chip in the board. Its used for a camera gimbal for rc helicopters. I don't know about the boot loader sorry, I just spend days on end to connect(not indicating its connected by LED lights on board) it to my computer via usb. I have an XP computer and I'm not worried about the programs right now, just want to connect to the computer using the right driver and or boot loader(Do I need one). Thanks guy's for your reply and I need help. I have added a picture of the board. Thank you again. I'm pretty good with this stuff but this tops the cake. Another thing is when I do try to download the program on to the board, just keep on the err's. Were to start?
