ATmega328 /w Bootloader Chip Question...

Pardon me for my Nubee'ness, just learning the arduino, but i want to make sure, can i put this chip (ATmega328 with Arduino Bootloader sku: DEV-09217 ATmega328 with Arduino Optiboot (Uno) - DEV-10524 - SparkFun Electronics) on a UNO board, program it the way i want, then remove it to use in a custom circuit or breadboard? (of course with the required crystal, loading caps, etc.) Basically, i want to prototype my code on a UNO, then pull the ATmega328 chip and solder it to another custom circuit board. Can this be done this way?

Yes, i already have the dip version of the uno, i started to get the smd version then i got to thinking about making other projects with it. Glad i got it!
