ATMEGA4809-PF and MCP2221A

I am running into some issues using the keyboard library with the ATMEGA4809 and the MCP2221A and I am afraid that I have gotten in fairly over my head so far as technical ability goes. I followed this guide: Technoblogy - Minimal ATmega4809 on a Breadboard and have had good luck in making the minimal board work, however I have been unable to use the board for HID where I receive the error "No Native USB support available on this board", however I was under the impression that the atmega4809 supported HID and the MCP2221A most certainly does, as that is the specific reason I bought it.

#error "No Native USB support available on this board"
