ATmega88PA Arduino IDE "HELP"

I just received some ATMEGA88PA chips that I ordered today .Well i tried to program them and no go

i read somewhere that avrdude needs an update well..I've got the newest version so i don't think so

does anyone know anything about programming these newer chips with arduino im using The ATMEGA

MiniCore from github it says it supports the atmega48 and 88 it works fine on all other chips that it

supports ...? any IDEAL what the problem is ?

Please explain exactly what you mean by "Well i tried to program them and no go".

Also, what do you mean by "newer chips". Are you talking about ATmega88PB? I think ATmega88PA has been around for a while.
