It would be wonderful to have an Arduino based on it!

I think I'll wait till digikey has stock. Always a good idea with Atmel's "newly announced" chips.
(Cypress PSOC chips have 5V IO...)

Why?
It is a low-end M0 ARM implementation and 5V is simply not a positive attribute these days when most mainstream sensors and displays are 3.3V.
The better ARM "Arduino" is the Teensy3.1 for under $20 USD.
The 4200 PSoC prototyping boards here is an inexpensive $4 board, very capable, but the Cypress software is a professional development and while free, takes some real dedication to become proficient in its use.
There is already a Arduino breakout group for the $4 Maple Mini boards here. These little boards sing a sweet song and are ARM M3.
