Can anyone tell me where i can purchase the 6 pin isp(icsp -spi) header that is on the arduino boards?
I get mine from Maplin. (actually, 2x5)
Or work ;D
Yeah i can find the 2x5, just not the 2x3. I dont have enough space for the 2x5. Thanks though
A razor saw (or fine hacksaw) and file can be used to take down larger sizes, but it just means you can't use the strain relief clip.
Yeah its funny i thought about that for prototyping but for production its not practical
Do you mean the headers soldered into the board or a connector that will mate with them?
The headers on the board look like standard male headers don't they?
For the matching connectors I just bought a couple retail at Creatron in Toronto. and I believe they are digi-key A3032-ND.
I'm cheap. I bought about 200 each of break away female and male headers.
If you cut of two 3-long headers, you've got 2x3 ;D!
about the only thing about using 2* SIP (single inline pin) headers is you kinda sorta have to be careful about soldering them parallel to each other
just dont solder them all in then flip the board over to see a V shape tween the two, tack a pin on one end, then you can see if you need to adjust them or not
you kinda sorta have to be careful about soldering them parallel to each other
Put a female plug or at least one jumper across the two rows of males while soldering. When soldering many kinds of pins or plugs, I like to plug in the cord. It adds to the heat-sinking effect on the plug, focusing the heat action in the area of the solder pads.
