ATMEL MEGA328P U-PH

Hi, can someone please help me, i have made a board to put DRL's on my car, i have had pcb's made, i made a prototupe that had atmega 328p-pu, it worked fine.

Now i have my pcb's with an allowance to reprogram them on the board via an FTDI board for various sequences as i require. i burn the boot loader via a socket and NANO setup then solder onto my board for final programming later.

My problem is when i try to program them it fails every time, i have built 7 boards now with the chip installed!!!!

Can anyone please help, this is my first project and its soul destroying to get this far and now fail and not know or understand why they wont work.

any help will be so so welcome.

Regards Martin

this is my first project

That is undoubtedly a large part of the problem.

You are probably missing out on many of the essential first steps, including understanding how to post a request for help.

Please read and follow the directions in the "How to use this forum" post.

A schematic and as-built block diagram will help.
I’m betting on power.

Hi,
Any reason you didn't just put some headers on your PCB to fit a Nano to each PCB, and then program the Nano for each PCB.
That way you avoid designing all the circuitry already layed out on the Nano to program it.
