Hi,
It is 8 pin DIP IC,may be it is EEPROM or data acquisition controller. Show in web, only AT24C01N.No data availed exactly about ATMLU 740 16B

I am sure ,this one from Atmel.Can any one tell substitute of ATMLU 740 16B.(16 may be 16KB)

ATMLU 740 16B is ATMEL AT24C16B (Two-wire Serial 2048 x 8 bit EEPROM).
