Attaching Code to Circuit Without wasting Arduino Board

I'm using a Sainsmart UNO R3, and was wondering if there was a way to attach code to circuit without wasting the board.

For example, if I make a small lamp that when I tilt it, the light turns on. Simple stuff like that. I don't want to use a whole board in the circuit as it I will have to buy a new one. Is there a way to store the code onto another cheaper component and install that as part of the circuit?

(Not sure if that example would need an Arduino, but assuming it did)

Thanks

The processor without the Arduino board, you mean?

LOL -- Nick, you must use that link twenty times a day. Time well spent on doing the write-up. (BTW, thanks, on behalf of the community.)

Awesome, that's exactly what I was after. Cheers.
