ATTiny 85 as ISP programmer?

Hi ALL; Just wondering. Arduino as ISP code compiles for an ATTiny 85 because the code fits.
Can it work if I change pin numbers accordingly? I´m asking because I don’t have one to try
And sourcing ANYTHING here is almost impossible. THANKs.

No, Arduino as ISP needs 6 I/O pins, only 5 available on the 85 in normal configuration.

Also seems a bit pointless to add a USB port to an ATtiny, when you can have a Nano that can do the whole thing for about the same price.

A tiny85 could do things like Optiloader (half of arduino as isp, but with the serial port replaced by in-flash content. Only takes 4 pins.)

Sorry for my late reply. Not sure if I should start another thread.
I thought that maybe I could use it to program other chips like a328 0r 1284.
Now, can a nano with a 328p do the job?
What about a nano with a 168PA? which I can source.

Guess I´ll start another thread.

I think that answered your question.
