Hi guys i am trying to use the attiny85 for a project so i have tried the blink sketch using the attiny core from arduino-tiny but the delays are 8 seconds long while using the Attiny85 @ 8Mhz core..
Using the Attiny85 @ 1Mhz core the delay is working fine..
Any help will be greatly appreciated..
you need to issue the "burn bootloader" command once. This does not burn a boot loader (the tiny does not have one), but sets the fuses so that the chip runs at the correct speed.

since he did not get back on this simple, yet crucial little problem, i will say this solves delay() issues for arduino and tiny indeed!
thanks olf2012

Welcome to the Arduino Microcontroller forum. First post, cool dude!
But generally the forum frown upon "waking up" a sleeping thread (older than a week or so...) With comments that add no value or extends information on the subject.
Everyone has an equal voice and obviously you can do what you wish, but for those of us who work diligently to asnswer questions, generating volume for no reason (forum noise) makes my and others jobs more difficult; it slows up down!
There is an area called Bar Sports where you can post to your hearts content... Kind of like Speaker's Corner in London
