Attiny85 relay control with bluetooth

Hello guys!

I have a simple question, I have a water booster at home which is a bit far from me, in order for me to power it on, i have to use the stairs to get to it. it's not that far, but it's tiring to use those stairs ngl :stuck_out_tongue:

I decided to use an HC 05 with an attiny 85 and a relay so i can activate from my apartment.

MY question is , is it safe to use a relay to control a water booster, the water booster has a motor inside it, so is it safe to power and shut motors like that?

Thanks!

you would need to check that the relay is rated to switch the current required by the motor
relays are usually rated AC1 simple resistive load and AC3 squirrel cage motor AC1 and AC3
if the relay does not have an AC3 rating halve whatever rating is stated, e.g. if the relay is rated 5Amp assume it is OK for a 2amp motor.
if the relay is too small you would require an additional contactor of the correct rating
