Hey, i recently got an attiny 85, ive installed the ide and all required drivers and libraries, it worked fine but at some point it stopped working / showing up on my machine (it seems to work on other computers), ive tried to reinstall all drivers but nothing worked. The only led lighting up is a green static led. Am i missing something that i need to do to get it working again? thanks
Start from testing is the board still running in the other PC, to be sure
it gets detected on the other computer but i still cant do anything with it, i believe its a bootloader issue. do i need something like a programmer board to fix this problem?

digispark attiny is supposed to be inserted when prompted during upload, do you have problem with that? Sometimes you need to insert it several times as it often fails to detect it from the first time
I am afraid that reinstalling the Arduino IDE is the only option left 
I tried to connect it multiple times, also i did reinstall the ide, as well as all drivers, and tried everything on another device. I think i somehow gooped the bootloader, and i would need some special tool to repair that.
No special tool, google high voltage attiny85 programmer. Here is one that would require a second attiny85 ATtiny85 Powered High Voltage AVR Programmer - Hackster.io, but they can be made with other Arduino compatible chips.
Do you know what bootloader settings you used? It is easy to "soft brick" an attiny with bootloader options.
