Audio in out. Volyme ramp up on Pir trigger input

Hi,

Im building a simple sensor volyme control.

I want to run audio in and out though aurduino.

When my PIR sensor is activated the volyme should ramp up during 1,5 sec and than stay up for 300 sec. than ramp down. everytime the pir is retriggered the delaytime should be resteted.

Can Anyone recomend a audio in/out shiled that is suiteble for this project. its kind of a HIFI… pro sound setup so the soundquallety in importatant.

Thanks !

The results will not be very good, what sort of quality do you want?

You do not need the audio to go through the Arduino to do this. You just need an arduino controlled volume control. Something like the TDA7439 if you can get hold of one these days.

found out that i can use a digital potentiometer also

You can but these tend to have only 256 steps and they make a slight noise when you change them. Also most of them are linear and you need a log one for audio.

Have a look at the PGA2311 volume control. These are very good quality, and easy to control.
