I posted a project a couple of weeks ago and people got me on the right track. So, thank you to this forum. Just before the project was completed...THE WHOLE THING CHANGED! The difference is this time I think I have a good approach going in, with really minimal coding. I just wanted to run it by everyone and see if there is a better idea than the way I am planning.
I have a project where I need six audio tracks to play simultaneously when a button is pushed. It is only about a minute in length so I am not worried about syncing issue that could happen with a longer recording. Here is my plan:
6 Arduino Nanos with SD card readers and 15 watt amplifiers going to separate speakers. Each handling its own track. One Arduino Uno that controls them all. When the button is pressed the Uno sends a signal to the Nanos to start playing. It also starts a timer so that if the button is pressed again before the music is over is doesn't just restart the track. Until the track is over it won't restart.
I might pair this down to three Nanos with the one sound track each on the right and left channel, then a separate amp for each channel as I want to have the ability to set volumes for each speaker. (I suppose I could use a nano for the control as well.)
The coding is really straight forward as I just need a simple WAV or MP3 player and the control board really only has a simple input output switch with a timer that I am sure I could figure out or find somewhere.
Does this sound like a sound approach? Is there any functionality that you think I should incorporate that I am not thinking of?
