auto aiming laserpoint to motion or intruder

i want to build a autopilot laser beam that wil beam at exactly at a person who is moving
first only horizontal will do i recon som with ping and motion sensors?

the laser will be the midle point sow it cannot be a servo, it needs to able to rotate and follow the intruder any suggestions there??

thnx in advance :o

What is the point of this project?
Do you intend to do the intruder harm by pointing at his eyes?
If not how do you hope to ensure the intruder is not damaged in any way?

It's probably just an aiming point for an automatic rifle.

Tricky - you'll probably need to try and detect the location from at least two independent sensors. Motion sensors (PIR) just indicate that there is motion, without any indication of where this may be.
Ping sensors (I guess you mean ultrasound) give a distance, so a two or more of them may allow you to triangulate a position, if they're placed far away enough from each other. But mind that most don't get more than 3 meters distance, some get a bit further like 5 meters, but 10 meters is pretty much the limit such sensors can do.

Stepper motor.

no it's actualy to scare the intruder rather then connect a gun to the device
it's like hey i know you are there, it will freak the burgelar out

i'm in the security buisnes and not the army lol

sow any tips suggestions??

tnx in advance

If it's to scare off a burglar, a proper floodlight should work at least as well, if not better. Then everyone in the area can see that there's an intruder (and you can have your camera make a good photo). Added advantage is that you don't have to bother aiming it, so a simple PIR sensor is enough.

The damage mentioned in #1 was due to the laser shining in the intruder's eye. Not by shooting on them.

Deliberatly aiming a laser at someone sounds like a very bad idea indeed.........

Aiming a laser only works if the person notices the aiming dot.
Bright light and noise would be more noticable.
Look at some of these projects to get autotracking/aiming ideas
