I am starting a home automation project using Arudino boards with WIFI shield or Ethernet Shield and would like to hear your opinions regarding available options towards implementing the project.
To describe my project, I would like to use the Arduino UNO with WIFI or Ethernet Shield to Automate my home, I am going to start into Phases where in Phase one I would like to deploy sensors all around the house to measure water level in Tanks ( 4 Water tanks ) which are at least 30 meters away from each other, Measure the water temp in these tanks along with two flow meters measuring the water flow rate in and out of the tanks. I would like also to deploy few sensors mounted on two service gates to indicate if the gates are locked or unlocked. My second phase is deploy some arduino/Relay combos to control lights/Flood Lights/Open and close main gate.
I would like to proceed with the project in two phases which are Phase-1 (monitor) and Phase-2 (Control) and since I will be using a number of Arduino with Ethernet or WIFI combos I would like all of them to report to a single platform/server or Human Machine Interface to simplify things and all are located on a single LAN.
I would like to know what are the simplest options to gather information and data from a number of IP arduinos to a single platform.
