Autonomo, the solar powered development board

SODAQ has launched the Autonomo. A microcontroller board that is built specifically for the outdoors Internet of Things. It can be powered by a tiny solar panel and/or small LiPo battery.
It is built around an Atmel SMART SAM D21 MCU and is equipped with a Bee Socket that can host more than 10 different communication modules, including Wi-Fi, GPRS, 3G, LoRa, SIGFOX and Bluetooth.

It also has a 16Mbit data flash and SD card holder. This makes it an ideal data acquisition device.

It is Arduino Zero compatible and can be programmed with the Arduino IDE 1.6.5

It is live on Kickstarter now. Have a look at:

Looks very interesting!

Are you located in the Netherlands?

I'm guessing you can switch the power to the radio modules?

Yes, SODAQ is based in Holland.

And yes, the power to the bee socket is switchable in software, so you can power down the radio modules completely.

Great!
