Avrdude error, can't upload sketch to board

Hi and thanks for tuning in.
I am trying to get a stepper motor to work for a lamp project (hint: it's not a discoball), and actually it was working as expected. I changed only some numbers in the code related to stepper speed. Now I get a long avrdude error message when outputted verbose. As far as I can tell the only thing that looks like a problem is
"User configuration file does not exist or is not a regular file, skipping"
I've been trying to find answers online and on this forum and found someone saying that this specific part of the error message can be regarded as normal and that it is safe to ignore it. This was in a post where the problem was the port couldn't be found, which doesn't seem to be the problem here, for as far as I can tell.

But other than that I cannot find any concrete problem indicators from this error message.
Here's the full version:

avrdude done.  Thank you.

I am rather new to Arduino. And any help is much appreciated!

This is correct.

Now I get a long avrdude error message

This is not an error message. This is output that indicates a successful upload. The problem you’re having is not related to uploading. It’s either a problem with your code or with your hardware.
