avrdude done. Thank you.

Problem uploading to board. See http://www.arduino.cc/en/Guide/Troubleshooting#upload for suggestions.

This report would have more information with
"Show verbose output during compilation"
option enabled in File -> Preferences.

The error above keeps showing up, and I also tried turning on show verbose output during: upload, and it does nothing to fix it. Someone please help

Did you try the loopback test? If this is an Uno with 16U2 TTL-to-USB converter chip, it should pass; for clones, I think the result is undefined.

Is this the first time that you try to upload or did it work in the past?

The intention is that it might give you extra information, not to fix the problem.

Yes I did. The loopback test failed since I didn't get any response from the serial monitor. What should I do? Mine is an Arduino Uno, and I JUST bought it a few days ago

  1. How does your board identifiy itself in Windows Device Manager? As 'Uno' or as 'USB serial'?
  2. If you connect the board, is it indeed COM5 that shows as a new device in Windows device manager?
  3. Did this board work before or is it the first time that you used it?

This board works before. It identifies itself as a USB serial CH340 (COM 5). Yes COM5 shows as a new device in the device manager.
