avrdude not in sync for all Nano boards

Hello,

I just possibliy killed one Nano board, but the behaviour is quite strange, so maybe someone can help me.

I own two Nano boards.

If I try to send a sketch to the possibly damaged Nano, after disconnecting and connecting again, I get the message: "avrdude: stk500_paged_write(): (a) protocol error, expect=0x14, resp=0x64", "avrdude: stk500_cmd(): programmer is out of sync". If I send it a second time, I get: "avrdude: stk500_getsync(): not in sync: resp=0x00".

I tried to chage to the second one, but got directly: "avrdude: stk500_getsync(): not in sync: resp=0x00". So I tried to reinstall all drivers, rebooted windows several times and finally put both Nanos on the computer, resutling in a new COM-Port. Nevertheless, I always get "avrdude: stk500_getsync(): not in sync: resp=0x00" for both Nano's.

Since I have a Uno simultaneously running without problems, I wonder, what to do now?!

Did I damage the driver just for the Nano's ??

Can anyone help me?

After again deinstalling and installing the drivers I get for the new Nano following message:

avrdude: stk500_cmd(): programmer is out of sync

Does this help?

Did you change the settings in IDE>Tools>board and IDE> tools> programmer ?

I'm not sure about the UNO, but between my Mega2560 and Nano, I always have to change these settings.

Yes, I tested all programmers, but none worked.

Meanwhile I changed to another computer (win 7x64) and get the "avrdude: stk500_cmd(): programmer is out of sync" message for the probably damaged Nano (I put probably 12 V to a digital IO pin, but not really sure). So this could mean, that the Nano is not probably but definitely damaged.

The other Nano runs without problems on this computer, i.e. should also work on my computer!

Is it possible, that I damaged something within windows 7x64 on my computer?
So, which drivers/services etc. are relatet to FTDI-USB communication?
Maybe I deactivated something in windows. A few moths ago, e.g. I forced windows to deactivate the USB port due to a too high voltage but for this I got a message from windows. Now I got no (obvious) message.

I'm really unhappy, since I'm close to the finish of my first larger arduino project.

Hmmm ... now I'm back home and tried again the undamaged Nano - and it works ?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

So I let the damaged one away from the computer to avoid corrupting the system again.

I don't really unterstand what happend.

Maybe the second Nano (which was in factory state as I tested it) was initialized in a certain kind and that's why it now works also at the other computer?!?!.
