avrdude problem

I can't seem to get avrdude to work on its own outside of the arduino IDE

this is the command I'm using:

C:\arduino-0017\hardware\tools\avr\bin\avrdude.exe -C C:\arduino-0017\hardware\tools\avr\etc\avrdude.conf -p m328p -P com5 -c stk500v2 -b19200 -U flash:w:C:\Documents and Settings\cyrilm\My Documents\Arduino_2300_labels\applet\new.hex:i

There message just always times out!?

I'm not sure what I'm missing but it seems like the same setting work fine through the IDE.

Any thoughts?

C:\arduino-0017\hardware\tools\avr\bin\avrdude.exe -C C:\arduino-0017\hardware\tools\avr\etc\avrdude.conf -p m328p -P com5 -c stk500v2 [glow]-b19200[/glow] -U flash:w:C:\Documents and Settings\cyrilm\My Documents\Arduino\_2300_labels\applet\new.hex:i

Are you certain 19200 is the correct baud rate? I don’t know what the correct value is but a little voice in my head suggests 57600.

I think there needs to be a space between the parameter and the value ("-b 57600" instead of “-b57600”).
