avrdude done. Thank you.

Problem uploading to board. See http://www.arduino.cc/en/Guide/Troubleshooting#upload for suggestions.

I tried selecting different options under the boards menu, changing the baud rate ,checking whether the ports were right and even reinstalling drivers.Has my chip burned or is there anything that I could do?Please guide me as to how to solve this problem.
Thanks in advance

Does the Freeduino board show up in the Device Manager as COM5 ?

Yes it does! Its shown as an usb to uart bridge

Try it with Arduino IDE 1.6.5 and see if that works for you. There are many posts which you may have seen in this forum about "COMX Access is denied" messages with version 1.6.8.
